You know by tomorrow you'll be encircled and you wonder if you'll ever see London again. So as the snow begins to fall around you as you think of your warm bed back at home, one of the captured Russians begins to hum..._*

Dieses Lied hat einfach alles. Melancholie, Trauer, Schmerz verpackt in poetischer Anmut in schöner, russischer Sprache. Als Deutscher kann ich nur hoffen, dass sich unsere Völker in Zukunft wieder versöhnen und nachfolgende Generationen ohne Krieg auskommen müssen.

Its hard for Americans (or most Europeans) to truely understand what WW1 means to Russia. We had a very small part in WW2 (from a manpower standpoint we did basically everything manufacturing) and yet we still call it the lost generation. Now imagine Russia, 100 of miles bombed to hell, cities turned to rubble, and 30 million dead.

We live in a damaged time of history 🏴‍☠️🖤 Sköl and may we all see a better life on the otherside ❤️‍🔥✨
